Which flange measurements belong in the enquiry?
Send a marked cross-section or clear photograph with a measured sketch. Identify the proposed clamp location, flange thickness at that location, whether the contact faces are parallel or tapered, and the space available for the body and accessories. State which dimensions are measured and which come from a structural drawing.

Eaton lists different flange limits and accessory pairings for different B-Line clamp families. This illustrates why an exact part reference matters; it does not establish a flange limit for Support Hardware products. Manufacturer reference.
Is dimension A the maximum flange thickness?
Do not make that assumption. Our beam clamp catalog tables use lettered dimensions tied to their accompanying drawings. Unless a label explicitly identifies an allowable flange range, keep it as a drawing dimension. Ask for the allowable range separately.
For example, the catalog lists HT-02 with an Rs entry of M6 / M8 and HT-03 with M10. These are useful sourcing references. The table alone does not tell a buyer the full thread tolerance, approved rod engagement or rated assembly load. Preserve the catalog wording when asking for clarification.
How should the rod connection be specified?
- Identify the proposed clamp and the mating rod together.
- Provide the complete thread designation from the controlled drawing, including pitch or threads per inch and tolerance requirements where specified.
- Show the tapped connection location and intended rod direction.
- Request the required engagement and any mating nut or locking component for that arrangement.
- Confirm fit after the specified finish is applied.
A fractional thread label without a pitch does not establish the complete thread specification. Likewise, choosing a nearby metric diameter is not an approved substitution. Resolve incomplete entries with the supplier before ordering the rod package.
Does physical fit establish load suitability?
No. Keep the fit review and the performance review as separate approval items. Show the supported assembly and load direction, then request the load documentation and installation instructions for the exact proposed configuration. A category name such as “universal” or “heavy-duty” does not complete that review.
