Beam Clamp Selection: Flange, Thread & Load Evidence

Choose a beam clamp by the actual flange, the required connection and the documented support arrangement. A similar-looking clamp is a starting point for identification, not evidence of an equivalent load rating.

Build a selection record before choosing a model

Use the following worksheet alongside the beam clamp types and catalog dimensions. Keep dimensions and performance evidence in separate fields so an unconfirmed rating cannot be mistaken for a measured size.

Read dimensions and performance as different evidence

The catalog drawings on our product page help identify geometry. They do not establish an unlisted working load, installation torque or project approval. Record missing information as “confirmation required” instead of completing the field with a value from another supplier.

For a replacement request, send both the existing reference and the required function. Ask for any proposed difference in flange range, connection, finish or installation method to be identified explicitly. Review the finish comparison when a coating change is also being proposed.

A short example of why the connection matters

In nVent CADDY’s 36-second 4QTIBC installation video, the visible sequence shows work at the flange attachment and then a suspended assembly being offered to the rod connections. Around 0:16 inspect the attachment; around 0:26 inspect how the rods meet it. These are observations of the demonstrated nVent configuration, not instructions or a performance test for our products.

The useful purchasing question is whether the complete connection method is defined. A photograph of the finished clamp alone may omit the mating rod, restraint or installation detail.

Send a compact, reviewable enquiry

Attach one marked-up flange sketch, the assembly drawing, quantity and destination. List the documents needed for approval. If an existing part number is known, include it together with the drawing revision rather than relying on the number alone.
